At Minerva Insights Group, we believe that the future of the insights industry depends on fostering talent, encouraging innovation, and strengthening the bridge between academia and business. That is why we are proud to share that Marktest, a Minerva Insights Group company, is sponsoring the first edition of the APODEMO Student Research Award.
Organized by APODEMO, the Portuguese Association of Market and Opinion Research Companies, this new initiative aims to bring higher education students closer to the realities of the research industry while recognizing the quality and relevance of academic work developed across Portuguese universities.
The award challenges students to apply their knowledge through research projects that make use of quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies commonly employed in market and opinion research. Entries will be assessed based on their scientific rigor, methodological innovation, and contribution to a deeper understanding of society.
By supporting this initiative, Marktest reinforces its commitment to promoting collaboration between the academic and business worlds and highlights the essential role research plays in preparing the next generation of insights professionals.
Commenting on the initiative, Bárbara Gomes, Business Unit Director at Marktest, said:
“I would like to welcome initiatives of this nature, as they promote something I consider extremely important: the fundamental connection between the business world and academia.”
The APODEMO Student Research Award offers:
- A first prize of €1,000
- The opportunity to publicly present the winning project at an APODEMO event
- One year of individual APODEMO membership for the top three finalists
Applications for the first edition will be open from 15 October to 11 December 2026 and are aimed at higher education students aged between 18 and 29 who are enrolled in institutions based in Portugal.
Initiatives such as this help cultivate the talent, curiosity, and methodological excellence that drive our industry forward. We are pleased to support a project that encourages students to transform academic knowledge into practical research that can contribute to better understanding consumers, markets, and society.
